“Baby Girl, You’re Still a Flower…”

I woke up this morning with cramps, a headache and just feeling plain old heavy. If you follow me on social media, you would know that I recently ditched my birth control  in lieu of well, nothing. I felt it was time to allow my body to breathe without hormones controlling my every move and better yet, I was ready to see a period after not having one for well over 8 years.

Or was I….

My cycle decided to return with a vengeance not even a month after I had the IUD removed. It decided to flow non -stop, all day, every day  <insert Michael Jackson dancing, singing, “Don’t stop till you get enough”>. The saying rings loud in my head, “Be careful what you wish for”. I felt I needed a warm drink and a hug to help soothe the raging Red Sea that was occurring in my body.

And a warm drink and a hug is what I got…

I ordered this rosy beauty from a little cozy restaurant in Capitol Hill called Nooshi. Known for its Asian, Thai-like cuisine which includes sushi, Nooshi is a place that was recommended to me by a friend who loves to find cute, unique and interesting restaurants that appeal to the senses.

Ive never tried tea from this restaurant, but when I was presented with a tea menu, I had to indulge. The Rose Hibiscus tea was so gorgeous, I didn’t even want to touch it. You know the first thing I did was grab my camera. I mean, the damn tea was beautiful in color and tasted rosy as well. Normally, I sweeten my tea, but this particular tea, I chose not to. I savored the scent as I drank it and smiled, because, I needed this hug! Just one sip of this tea and my cramps disappeared, my mood shifted and I was ready to take on the world!!!

I say all this to say….

Get you some!!!
