Thats Life

This life is a wonderful gift .. accept it, embrace it.
It starts with a new day .. wake up and greet it.
Life is a challenge .. take it head on and meet it.
Full of opportunity .. use it, don’t waste it.

This life is a mystery .. unfold it, solve it.
It starts with meaning .. wake up and understand it.
Life is a goal .. take it head on and achieve it.
Full of promise .. fulfill it but keep it.

This life is a tragedy .. face it, accept it.
It starts with pain .. wake up and help numb it.
Life is a struggle .. take it head on and fight it.
Full of sorrow .. sorry, just overcome it.

This life is precious .. hold it, treasure it,
It starts with hope .. wake up and feel it.
Life is a choice .. take it head on and make it.
Full of knowledge .. use it, don’t abuse it.

This life is adventurous .. enjoy it, explore it.
It starts with a duty .. wake up and perform it.
Life is love .. take it full on and love it.
Full of beauty .. praise it and behold it.

That life is life .. live it, learn and grow
Life is good .. be good with all that you know.

Konfessions Of A Fashionable Mind

Konfashionable Mind. “Konfessions + Fashion + Inspiration = Konfashionable Mind” This was the tagline for my blog. The definition of what my blog is about. The goal was to create beautiful, plush pictures of myself in fabulous fashion finds. The goal was to post fashion/beauty tips. The goal was to travel and document my adventures.…

Journey to 135: Weeks 1-4

Let’s see. My Journey to 135. Healthy Living Lifestyle. Summed into one word. HELP! Weeks 1-4 have been a rollercoaster. A mixture of GLOWAGE and the RUINATION of everything I have ever lived for. Let’s start with the RUINATION: I’ve been eating whatever I’ve wanted since I was a new-born. I’ve always been skinny. As a kid, I…

What’s The Tea: Pink Drink Vibes

Along my Journey to 135, I discovered Keto dieting. Eating protein and veggies seemed fairly easy, however I had a hard time adjusting. I quickly discovered that Keto would not be for me. However, one day, I had a craving for a Starbucks drink.  I did not want to ruin my diet with a super sugary drink,…

Positive Expression Does Wonders

I often wonder. How is it that certain people display negative expressions on their face. Not sometimes. But. At all times. Personally. When I’m angry, I smile. When I’m sad, I smile. When I’m frustrated, I smile. Until I’m behind closed doors. Then, I remove the smiley face and display my emotions. I discreetly stare at…

Phenomenal Woman, Indeed

untitled

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I woke up this morning with this poem in my head and when I got in the car there was a woman on the radio also reciting this poem.

Listening to my inner woman and the deejay on the radio was confirmation that:

I

Am

Indeed

A

Phenomenal

Woman

And

You

Are

Too.

Who Is This Woman?

Ten years ago. There was an older woman that worked in the same building that I worked in. Eclectic and Bold. I’d never seen a woman wear striped button ups with polka dotted pencil skirts. Fishnets with blazers and short skirts. Leopard print cat eye frames. She wore her collars sticking straight up in the air. Fabrics that didn’t match, but…
